COURSE DESCRIPTION

In the Xpress Taqleed course, students learn how to recite passages with fluency, correct tajweed and tune. Taking inspiration from world class reciters, students are taught how to copy and imitate various aspects of the Qari's recitation. We then help them apply those techniques in their own recitation. Whereas taqleed is traditionally used to imitate melody, this course teaches holistic taqleed so that all aspects of a student's recitation improves.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Be able to open any page of the Quran and:

​

  • Recite reasonably fluently including long and short vowels, making very few errors and knowing how to correct identified mistakes.

​

  • Pronounce most letters correctly.

​​​

  • Fully understand the rules of Ù† sukoon and tanween and apply the rules reasonably consistently.
